Who Would Have Guessed
Who would have guessed that a small sportswear brand founded in Boulder, CO in 1989 could make such an imprint on street style and sports culture?
Starting with the "Things Have Changed" t-shirt for Colorado Football and the iconic "Shark Takes His Bite" UNLV Basketball Championship shirt, we quickly evolved. We became the first minority-owned company to obtain all pro-league licenses, promoting self-actualization and social consciousness through ethnic, street, and lifestyle-inspired sports apparel.
Today, Two Hype remains one of the only minority-owned companies with pro-league licenses (NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL), as well as NCAA, HBCU, and Olympic licenses, creating official apparel for sports and fashion enthusiasts. Our vision of blending sports and fashion while empowering young consumers and athletes has brought us longevity, impact, respect, and brand loyalty.
After a pivotal meeting with then head Football Coach, Bill McCartney, and in anticipation of a key game between the CU Buffaloes and long-standing rival, the Oklahoma Sooners, Penix and Christmas (together with then partner Tom Warren) created the “Things Have Changed” T-shirt.
"Pioneered the fusion of License sports clothing with popular urban/street culture.”
